Director Lukas Dhont (30), just enrolled at film school, was 18 years old when he read the story of dancer and transgender Nora Monsecour in our newspaper. He cut the article out and thought: I’m going to film this later. ‘Girl’, his 2018 full-length debut based on Nora’s life story, would eventually win the Caméra d’Or at Cannes.
