Dior will show its Cruise 2023 collection in Seville. The fashion show will take place in Plaza de España, the French fashion house announced on Monday.
The semi-circular square is crossed by a water basin and is lined with an old building with arcades – which will serve as the backdrop for the fashion show on June 16th. The choice of the southern city in Spain as the setting for the Cruise collection is obvious – as Dior says, “the ties between Dior and Spain, and Andalusia in particular, were made as early as the 1950s”. During his travels to Spain, Christian Dior was inspired to create silhouettes that his successors also included in their collections.
Now that inspiration is set to continue – the event will showcase “the excellence of Andalusian craftsmanship and culture through the creativity of local artists and artisans”.
