The dinosaurs a few meters high are made with a new -build home made of natural stone, which is why resident Thijs Zomer thinks it is pretty together. The dinosaurs are just as old as the stone of the house. “I have been getting natural stone from Macedonia since 2008, for an employment project. And I am now co-owner of the quarry there.”
The two dinos are between Hoogeveen-Oost and Hollandscheveld and attract quite attention. “This was made in Indonesia. They ended up in the Netherlands via-Via and here I picked them up again. It was a bit of work to get them to this place, but we succeeded.”
“It is unimaginable how many people come here to take a photo,” Summer is surprised. “Cars that stop, people who raise a thumb. That is of course perfect. I did not expect that so many reactions would come to it.”
According to the owner, what type of dino it is is also clear. “This is a Thijsosaurus … it is of course called me. It was just invented.”
