Pophouse points in the statement that has been shared with the ANP to an external producer and says it has not been involved in the daily management. “We encountered problems related to production and it turned out that the producer did not comply with contractual obligations. Pophouse has tirelessly worked on investigating opportunities to keep the show running in Rotterdam, but we have not succeeded in coming to an agreement.”
A spokesperson for producer Punch says that the performances stop immediately.
The dinner show Mamma Mia! The Party was played in the Schiecentrale in Rotterdam. The premiere was in September 2024. A Greek village was recreated at the location, in which the public is located. The concept of the dinner show was also devised by Ulvaeus and could be seen in Stockholm and London, among others.
