“With the new OC we give Dikkebus a fully -fledged place where people can come together, associations can grow and connectedness is central. This building is from and for the community,” says Mayor Katrien Desomer.
The local heritage is also given a prominent place: together with the opening of the OC, a traveling heritage stop is unveiled, which puts the history of the building in the spotlight. Jubilea from local associations will also be discussed later this year.
“Culture, heritage and meeting go hand in hand here. Dikkebus deserves a place that is buzzing with life, memory and future,” says ships of Culture Eva Ryde.
