The internal systems of the Public Prosecution Service (OM) are still out of the blue. That confirms a spokesperson on Saturday afternoon NRC. After more than a day and a half, research into the security problem continues and employees do not yet have access to the digital working environment.

On Friday, the OM linked all internal systems separately from the internet after a warning from the National Cyber Security Center (NCSC). This signaled a ‘vulnerability’ last month at the Software Netscaler of the American company Citrix, with which employees can log in to systems remotely via a secure connection.

Malicious people could possibly have access to the system. Whether that actually happened has not yet been able to determine the OM. It is clear, however, that ‘no signal’ has been received that the ‘high -protected environment’ was affected by Hackers, according to an internal message from Saturday afternoon that NRC seized.

Whether the disruption also has consequences for criminal cases, a spokesperson for the OM could not say on Saturday.

Brainstage

After its own investigation, it said that it would have a reason on Friday that “actually used” of the possible vulnerability in the system. That is why it was decided to get the internal systems offline, which, in addition to their own employees, has also denied any burglars access to the digital working environment.

As a result of the closure of the internet, employees who are working remotely can no longer log in. You can still work at the offices of the OM, but connecting to the internet is not possible.

The OM expects from employees who cannot perform their regular work that they will pick up ‘alternative tasks’ in the coming days, according to the internal message. This should include ‘offline’ activities, such as archiving paper files, brainstorming sessions or team development.
