LThe key word of those who intend to spend real relaxing holidays is: disconnection. The so-called digital detox experienceis what makes vacation days true rest days.

Digital detox: useful tips to detoxify from your smartphone

Digital detox: the holiday without connection

Easy to say, less easy to do. Smartphone, iPad, computer now they have become like appendages, objects without which we feel lost in the world. And that is why disconnection is difficult. On those devices there is now our life. Friends can be heard via Whatsapp, appointments are written on the phone agenda, the smart watch is used to calculate time and calories when we play sports.

But if this year you are really determined to challenge each other and spend your holidays free from any digital object, Sardinia is the perfect place. Not only for the beauty of the places, but because there is a startup that has launched “Logout Livenow”“Disconnect, live now”, became in a few years the first ‘digital detox’ holiday tour operator in Europe.

The village emptied itself with the escape to the city of its inhabitants, but its seventy stone houses were included in the 2022 Guide of the most beautiful villages in Italy

An addiction that ruins true relaxation

The only thing that is asked of participants is to put your mobile phone in a safe and leave it there until the end of your holiday. The impact, they tell Gavino and Giuliano Puggioni, 29 and 30, from Sassari, founders of the project, is not always easy.

Just like any other addiction, in fact, often the participants, in the first hours of the experience, they show some difficulty and some anxiety in not being able to look at the notifications on the phone screen. But then they relax until they enjoy the great privilege of disconnection.

Digital detox weekend

The startup was born before the pandemic and its first steps to see the approval of the idea were a series of “Weekend digitaI detox”organized a Lollove, medieval village in the municipality of Nuoro where a dozen inhabitants live.

The village emptied itself with the escape to the city of its inhabitants, but its seventy stone houses were included in the 2022 Guide of the most beautiful villages in Italy. The goal of the local administration is to revive the country as an ideal travel destination for those looking for an unconventional experience, inspired by slow tourismalso taking into account that in Lollove there is no “network”, that is, there is none signal for mobile phones, tablets and PCs.

Lollove the country is reborn without a “network”

There mission of the proposed digital detox experience is to improve people’s lives. And it includes different itineraries, all linked however to the discovery of the environmental wonders of Sardinia. They are divided into visits, manual activities, walks, excursions, always including a seminar on “Digital Wellbeing”.

The goal is certainly not to abandon technology, which is impossible in our world. What one would like, however, would be teach to use it in a conscious way, limiting the hours of connection in the course of everyday life. Which, as has already been amply demonstrated, would make a decisive contribution to general well-being.
