Dieuwke Wynia, Matthijs van Nieuwkerk’s former horror sidekick, shoots sharply at everything and everyone she can blame. “Eva Jinek also part of the snake pit!”
It is unprecedented: while Dieuwke Wynia, as former editor-in-chief of the legendary De Wereld Draait Door, was at the helm of a notorious culture of fear for years, she now seems mainly concerned with shifting blame and making suspects of everyone who she believes was part of the Hilversum power game.
‘Everything framed’
Eva Jinek is now also being criticized. Dieuwke tells in the newspaper The Morning that absolutely everything is framed in a certain way, even now that she has published a book about the DWDD drama.
When asked whether she expects a response from Matthijs or BnnVara to her book, Dieuwke answers: “No. When it became known that I was working on it, it suddenly appeared on all news sites: ‘Matthijs van Nieuwkerk and BNNVARA are not collaborating on a book about DWDD’. Huh, I thought, I didn’t ask them that at all, did I? This is my book!”
Snake pit
Very strange, says Dieuwke. “After some searching, I discovered that ANP (the Dutch press agency, ed.) had sent a telex to the world under that headline, as its own news. Do you know who is the director of ANP? Matthijs’ wife,” she says, referring to Martha Riemsma.
“Even after the revelations in the Volkskrant, Matthijs did not respond himself, but his best friend was on Eva Jinek’s talk show that same evening to retell his retracted statement. And the big boss at Jinek was the former editor-in-chief of DWDD, who wanted to fire me twice. So it is such a snake pit.”
