World-famous former striker Didier Drogba, who also played for Galatasaray for a while in our country, announced that he was a candidate for the presidency of the Ivory Coast Football Federation.
Drogba’s candidacy was officially confirmed by the electoral board. Meanwhile, the nominations of Sory Diabate and Idriss Diallo were approved, while the applications of Yatte Ellele Jean-Baptiste, Arnaud Aka and Laurent Kouakou were rejected. In the election to be held on April 23, Drogba will have two opponents.
According to Ivory Coast’s local media, Drogba is not the favorite in this election. It was also stated that the legendary name did not receive enough support from the clubs.
