Windows has many lesser-known features that make navigating the operating system even easier. Some of the features have been in use since the beginning and some have been added to the operating system along the way.
Opening applications with administrator rights is an old feature, but Windows 11 allows you to do it very conveniently from the search menu, Windows Latest tells.
When you search for the application from the start menu, several options appear on the right side of it, such as opening with administrator rights. However, the same can be done without the mouse when the application is selected, with the Ctrl + Shift + Enter key command.
Another trick that makes life easier is related to the Windows taskbar. Applications located in the taskbar can be conveniently opened using either their name or location.
The taskbar search mode can be activated with the Windows + T key command. After that, the right application can be selected by clicking on the first letter of its name on the keyboard. Press enter to start or open the selected application.
If there are several applications starting with the same letter in the taskbar, you can switch between them by clicking on the initial letter several times. In addition to this, the mode can be navigated using the arrow keys.
Another possibility is to open applications using their location. The applications are numbered from left to right, and for example the Windows + 1 key command opens the first application from the left in the taskbar. If the application is already running and open, the key command minimizes the window.
It’s also possible to add a feature to the taskbar to make it easier with trickier apps. You can usually close the application when it freezes via the taskbar. However, you can get the same functionality in the taskbar via the developer settings.
The feature can be turned on in the developer settings under End task. When this is done, the functionality can be accessed by clicking on the application in the taskbar with the right mouse button.
