Pole vault star Armand Duplantis from Sweden has with 6.16 meters Diamond League Meeting set an outdoor record in Stockholm. His three-month-old world record from the World Indoor Championships in Belgrade is 6.20 meters. In pole vaulting, there is a joint world record for outdoor and indoor competitions.

Long jumper Malaika Mihambo, meanwhile, only finished fifth in the last big test before the World Athletics Championships. The Olympic champion landed twice at 6.72 meters, but jumped off the board once and gave away more than 20 centimeters. The two-time World Indoor Championship third placed the winner Lorraine Ugen from Great Britain with 6.81 meters. At the German Championships in Berlin, Mihambo had recently jumped 6.85 meters.
