Before the start of the European Championship, the DFB women not only worked, but also musically. With Wolfgang Petry you bring out a song.

Just in time for the European Championship start against Poland, the German women’s national team publishes a new version of a well-known hit-together with Wolfgang Petry.

When the team of national coach Christian Wück starts the tournament in St. Gallen on Friday, the new version of “fall in love, lost, forgotten, forgive”. This was announced by the singer’s management. The title was sung with the players in the training camp in Herzogenaurach-and from then on he should serve as an official anthem of the DFB selection.

“I think everyone can look forward to what angelic voices came out of,” said captain Giulia Gwinn with a smile after the team’s arrival in Zurich. The song has “somehow carried through the past few months” the song that wants to win the title in Switzerland.

Already on June 23, Petry was visiting the DFB team and gave the players a musical foretaste of the European Championship. The 73-year-old knew about his management that the evening for him was “a big event in my long life”. He was particularly pleased that the young players at the age of around 20 years sang their hits loudly. He had great conversations with the footballers and the coaching team, “just a mistake!”

As a thank you, the Cologne singer received a DFB jersey with the number 12-provided with the name “Wool Petry”. He was well equipped for the games of the European Championship. “I can’t do much, but if I can support the DFB women with the little I can, it is a great pleasure for me,” said Petry.

The musician has been pursuing the career of German footballers for a long time. Whether qualification games, European championships or world championships – Petry claims to look at every game. Already in April the team had personally invited the singer to Scotland after the 6-1. “The girls all sent me an invitation video together, it went to my heart and I couldn’t say no,” said Petry, who rarely appears.

After playing, Petry belongs to the team’s bus playlist-his songs run regularly. Another personal meeting is not planned for the time being. Petry showed that a reunion could take place “for the great -grandchildren” in another 25 years.
