It’s a shame it was already nominated earlier

The German national team will have to do without Jamie Leweling in the World Cup qualifiers in Northern Ireland. The winger from VfB Stuttgart has left the DFB team quarters due to adductor problems. He had only trained individually since Tuesday and was not used in the 4-0 win against Luxembourg.

According to his club, the 24-year-old is on the road to recovery. This measure was taken in order not to take any risks for the current season. Leweling made his debut for the German senior team last October, scoring one goal, and has played two more games since then. National coach Julian Nagelsmann had recently called up Kevin Schade from Brentford FC because of Leweling’s injury.

Germany plays against Northern Ireland in Belfast on Monday. Only the group winner qualifies directly for next year’s World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico. After the Northern Irish team beat Slovakia 2-0, the DFB team is currently first.
