DFB shock before semi-finals! Klara Bühl is canceled with Corona

The DFB women have to prove themselves in the semi-final against France on Wednesday. But a player will not be there.

Severe setback for the DFB women before the semifinals against France on Wednesday (9 p.m. in the t-online live ticker): Klara Bühl will not be there. The German team’s Twitter account reads: “Klara Bühl has tested positive for the corona virus and will therefore miss tomorrow’s European Championship semifinals against France. She is currently symptom-free and was immediately isolated. Further tests of the entire team and staff were negative out.”

Bühl himself wrote on Instagram: “Positive and still positive! My team will make the stadium celebrate tomorrow and inspire you with great football! I’m already looking forward to the game and will do everything to be back on the pitch with the girls soon to be able to!”

Bühl is not the first corona case in the team

National coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg praised Bühl after the quarterfinals against Austria (2-0), saying: “If you look at her first four games, then she’s just an extremely important player for us, who gives us a lot of energy.” She also continued to praise that Bühl had “a big heart”.

Scorer Lea Schüller had already tested positive for the virus at the European Championship. She has since been released from quarantine. With the exception of Bühl, national coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg is available for all players. Bühl could be replaced by Jule Brand against France.
