As of: 07/30/2022 8:09 p.m

The regional league club Offenbacher Kickers fought for a long time, but in the end Fortuna Düsseldorf from the 2nd Bundesliga prevailed. The Rhinelanders advanced to the second main round of the DFB Cup on Saturday (07/30/22) with a 4-1 win in Hesse.

It was only ten minutes before the break that André Hoffmann headed the visitors, who were two classes higher, into the lead after a corner. The hosts didn’t give up, but had to accept the 0:2 through Kristoffer Peterson after the break.

OFC hope through Lemmer’s goal

Jakob Lemmer’s goal a short time later (54′) gave the Kickers new hope. A little later Bozic had the equalizer on his feet, but his chip just missed. Shortly thereafter, F95 coach Daniel Thioune showed a golden touch and replaced Ginczek, who made the decision with his brace (71st and 79th).

In the final phase, OFC keeper David Richter prevented an even greater defeat in the game, which was sometimes tough for both sides.
