March 28, 2026 – 8:42 p.mReading time: 1 min.

The Ivory Coast is in strong shape almost three months before the World Cup duel with Germany. For the Ivorians it was also the first game after the Africa Cup in January.
Ivory Coast beat South Korea 4-0 in a friendly in Milton Keynes, England. It was the Ivorians’ first appearance since their quarter-final exit at the Africa Cup against Egypt – and a first pointer towards the World Cup.
Evann Guessand scored 1-0 in the 35th minute. Simon Adingra increased shortly before the break (45th + 1), Martial Godo added after the break (62nd). Wilfried Singo scored the final point in stoppage time (90+4). On the South Korean side, Bayern Munich’s Min-Jae Kim was in the starting line-up. Veteran star Heung-min Son was only used as a substitute. On Tuesday, Ivory Coast will face Scotland in another test (8.30 p.m.), South Korea will also face Austria on Tuesday (8.45 p.m.).
The Ivorians will face Germany at the World Cup on June 20, 2026 in Toronto. Other opponents in the group are Ecuador and World Cup debutants Curaçao.
