The TV station RTL presented the telethon for the 30th time. The national coach was also there and asked for support for his passion project.

Julian Nagelsmann swapped the coaching bench for the television studio on Thursday. The national coach, who completed the World Cup qualification with the German national team on Monday, was a guest at the RTL telethon with his partner Lena Wurzenberger.

The two are project sponsors of the “Stiftung RTL – We help children e. V.” and support the Sports360 Foundation’s “Strong Together” project, which provides targeted relief for families with children with disabilities and offers individual leisure activities – from siblings’ day to family trips.

What’s special: The focus is not only on the affected child, but also on the siblings, who are often in the shadows.

Nagelsmann and Wurzenberger called for donations as part of the broadcast. The national coach explained what the project is all about: “That children with disabilities can still enjoy great leisure activities and also their siblings, who often have to be left behind in their families.”

The 38-year-old continued: “And it’s also about relieving the burden on parents who have to look after the child or children 24/7 who always have to be there. That they also have moments that they can spend together and be a couple. That’s why it’s extremely worthwhile to donate to this.”

The proceeds will be used to realize further projects in the Munich area that strengthen families with children with disabilities – through relief, joint activities and new perspectives.
