Two barns burned to the ground last night due to a fire in Broek op Langerdijk. There is nothing left of the barns on Prinses Irenestraat and Prinses Margrietstraat except for a big mess.
Just before 4 a.m., emergency services received a report of a fire in a shed on Prinses Irenestraat. This spread to an adjacent shed on Prinses Margrietstraat, a spokesperson for the safety region tells NH.
Completely destroyed
The fire did not spread to a home. The barns were both completely destroyed, as can be seen in the photos.
The fire brigade needed about an hour and a half to extinguish the fire and had to scale up extra. “The fire was difficult to reach and we also scaled up additional water extraction,” said the spokesperson.
