Campaigner Samira Lurks was very proud of the big turnout. “Everyone who could do is there today.” She is confident that the permanent tenants are right for the fourth time in a row. “The owner’s plan is not concrete and feasible now and it was not a year ago. Naturally, recent statements about nitrogen emissions do not help them.”
Lawyer Martijn Punt is happy that he can conduct this case. “It is an honor to assist them. This is the largest group of clients I have ever had in one case. It is a righteous matter. You just feel that they should get right, you just have to convince the judge.”
‘It’s not legally, it’s simple’
“It is ultimately not legally, it is simple,” Punt continues. “It is not so easy to get people who have had a standing place for a long time. There are rules for that. So if you cancel the rent, you must have a clear plan. Otherwise everyone can just cancel and then do nothing with it. They have already fished three times behind the net and the fourth time is now happening.”
On April 30 it becomes clear whether that prediction is correct. Then the judge makes a decision in the case.
