In the west of Sudan, a landslide on 31 August wiped out a full village, reporting more than a thousand dead as a result. According to the Sudan Liberation Movement/Army (SLM/A), led by Abdelwahid Nour, there is only one survivor. The disaster took place in the Marra Mountains after days of heavy rainfall.
