Despite the fierce criticism, RTL 4 continues with the ‘boring’ coaches of The Voice of Holland. Dinand Woesthoff, Ilse DeLange, Suzan & Freek, Willie Wartaal will return next season.
You would think that RTL 4 would listen to the criticism that The Voice of Holland has fallen asleep with the new coaches, but nothing could be further from the truth. Today, on the press day of the final, the channel reveals that all current coaches will also participate in the new season: Dinand Woesthoff, Ilse DeLange, Suzan & Freek, Willie Wartaal.

The recording of The Voice will start in the summer and that means that the terminally ill Freek Rikkerink expects to stay with us for a while. The singer recently attended a week-long meditation retreat by influential self-help guru Joe Dispenza. According to De Telegraaf he is also described as quack.
Freek has incurable, metastatic lung cancer, but he does everything he can in the hope of reversing it. “Had a mega inspiring week in America,” he says on Instagram. “Meditation has now become a permanent part of my day, to get out of my head and more in touch with my feelings. So attending a retreat was on the wish list.”
Gliding swing
Science journalist Adriaan ter Braack is critical of it. “Dispenza is a predator that sees vulnerable, sick people like Freek Rikkerink as easy prey. Out of desperation, they pay thousands of euros for a retreat in the hope of healing,” he writes in Fidelity. “Clever scam that is marketing-technically sublime.”
In any case: Freek expects to be able to complete the next season of The Voice of Holland and that is of course good news for the singer and his family.
