To be honest, actress Desi van Doeveren (35) knew little about Aletta Jacobs before she got the leading role in ‘Aletta de Musical’ by Theater Oostpool. She hopes that the new performance will raise the profile of the first Dutch female doctor and women’s rights advocate from Sappemeer. “Her story has meant so much to our history.”
