The Howlers are one of those bands that play more than just music on stage. The British trade press calls their sound “Filmic Desert Rock”. Why? The Londoners combine the dusty expanse of Californian wastelands with the punch of modern indie rock.
The trio has now announced their second album, “Heavy” (to be released on October 9, 2026). Immediately afterwards, The Howlers will present their dark, driving new songs on a European tour and will also play four concerts in Germany.
The fact that this second record even exists is nothing short of a miracle. After the debut “What You’ve Got To Lose To Win It All”, which was marked by personal strokes of fate, the band project was already on the verge of collapse at the end of 2024. Frontman Adam Young reinvented the formation together with bassist Guus Ter Braak and drummer Tom Triggs.
“Heavy” arose logically from a completely changed group dynamic. While the first work was about loss, the new pieces look directly into the abyss of sleepless nights. The pre-release singles “Nightcrawling”, a classic rebirth anthem, and “Viper”, which fires with strong fuzz guitars, provide a foretaste of this dark mixture.
In their live performances, The Howlers’ cinematic song structures reveal a raw, almost physical urgency. In November you can experience the band’s dust-dry, elegant swagger in Cologne, Munich, Hamburg and Berlin. Tickets are available in advance via the Reservix ticket portal.
