Ossendrijver thinks it is ‘downright ridiculous’ what happened to Derksen after his much-discussed statements in Today Inside† “Cancelling it by a small group, the media and radio stations running blindly after it. It all has nothing to do with each other. Now we have reached the point where there is a nice program on the air, and a man who has meant a lot for good Dutch music is being turned away by everyone. Well, not by us”, says Ossendrijver.
Johan Derksen, Wilfred Genee and René van der Gijp stopped after the commotion about Derksen’s ‘candle story’ Today Inside† He allegedly penetrated an unconscious woman with a candle. A day later, Derksen said that there was no penetration. After three days of angry reactions and conversations with Talpa, the trio decided to stop the program.
