Derk Bolt no longer a big hit after TV scandal: ‘Viewers without a trace’

After the scandal about the cheat reunions in Spoorloos and his childish reaction to it, Derk Bolt is no longer such a crowd pleaser. “Would the viewers have definitely dropped out?”

The new season of Spoorloos started cautiously yesterday on its new broadcast evening. The Derk Bolt show got stuck at just over 1 million viewers (21 percent market share), which is considerably less than before. It seems that the program has been seriously damaged by the row over the cheat reunions.

Sjoemel-Derk

Tina Nijkamp finds it worrying. “Spoorloos met Derk Bolt has a new day, Wednesday instead of Monday, and scores just above a million with the first episode of this new season. It scores considerably less than before. Exactly one year ago, the program still scored 1.4 million viewers.”

So there are about 400 thousand more. “After the Spoorloos scandal, the viewing figures fell slightly, but not that low. Would the Spoorloos scandal have ensured that viewers have definitely dropped out? Or is it just because the viewer has to get used to a new broadcast day or did not yet know that a new season had started?

Still gold

Despite the disappointing score, Derk still takes gold at prime time, but, says Tina: “The lower score is certainly remarkable.”

The second most watched program on prime time was broadcast immediately before: Spaceship Earth recorded 989 thousand viewers (20 percent).

Carlo scores

RTL 4 takes silver on prime time thanks to the 895 thousand viewers (18 percent) for Married At First Sight. This is followed by SBS 6 with 770 thousand viewers (17 percent) for Today Inside.

The VI men again made the most watched talk show of the night. Op1 (690 thousand), Khalid & Sophie (642 thousand) and Jinek (634 thousand) follow at a distance. Eva Jinek still had a major interview with Prime Minister Mark Rutte in store for the viewer. So not a crowd pleaser.
