Depeche Mode will go on a big “Memento Mori” world tour in spring 2023. In February, Dave Gahan and Martin Gore announced the opening act for the North American leg of the tour – Welsh musician and producer Kelly Lee Owens. Well have Depeche Mode in a new interview explains why they chose Owens as the opening act.

“We got a huge list of potential support acts; I knew some of them, like Kelly Lee Owens, who I really liked, and we decided she would be a perfect fit,” Gore says. He adds: “What she does is very atmospheric and it never seems like just one person is playing – she really puts her soul into it.” The Welsh electronica musician and producer has worked with the likes of Daniel Avery, Jenny Hval and St. Vincent collaborated and released their third studio album LP.8 last year.

Depeche Mode’s long-awaited new album MEMENTO MORI will be released on March 24, 2023. It is their first record since the death of band member Andy Fletcher in May 2022 at the age of 60. On their world tour, which includes more than 80 performances, Depeche Mode will also stop in five German cities. You can find the exact dates here:
