Editorial recommendations
“In The End” was recorded during the filming of their 2023 album MEMENTO MORI. Once again it’s about death. Frontman Dave Gahan sings: “You know we’re going nowhere / We’re all nothing in the end / We’re weightless, floating endlessly / We’ll be dust again in the end.”

More about “M”
“M” is the sequel to Anton Corbijn’s 2019 live film “Spirits In The Forest”. The band’s film was positively received at the “Tribeca Film Festival 2025”. It offers fans the opportunity to accompany Dave Gahan and Martin Gore on their journey “to the heart of Mexican culture and their confrontation with death, framed by their legendary live performances,” according to a statement. The film was released in over 2,500 cinemas in more than 60 countries.
What’s the deal with the concert film “M”?
“M” was conceived and directed by award-winning Mexican filmmaker Fernando Frias. It consists of recordings from the band’s three sold-out concerts at the Foro Sol Stadium in Mexico City, which were part of their 2023 and 2024 stadium tour for the album MEMENTO MORI – the first release since the death of band member Andy Fletcher.
Despite the album’s thematic exploration of life and death, the songs were written before the group lost their friend. The first songs written for the record were written during the pandemic. Gahan and Gore revealed this in an earlier interview with NME. While recording the album, the band was already thinking about death – also due to Corona and personal experiences.
