With the start of the Tribeca Film Festival in New York, the waiting also has come to an end: The concert film “Depeche Mode: M” to the “Memento Mori” tour celebrates its premiere on Thursday, June 5. A central role here is to play the recognition of death, which is of enormous importance in Mexican culture. At the same time, Frias makes the connection to the Memento Mori album and the surprising death of band member Andy Fletcher, who died in May 2022. The band’s Mexican fans should also receive recognition with the concert film.
Propertive theatrical release in autumn
The 95-minute film promises to bring some live highlights of the shows onto the screen with recordings and archive material of the concerts.
The premiere on June 5th at the Tribeca Film Festival follows a discussion round with Dave Gahan and Martin Gore and the director.
The film is expected to come to cinemas worldwide in autumn. However, there is still no concrete information.
