Alexander Nübel is returning to his home club FC Bayern after the World Cup in the USA, Mexico and Canada after spending the last two years on loan at VfB Stuttgart. The DFB keeper is unlikely to stay in Munich for too long, as they are planning to have Manuel Neuer and Jonas Urbig there. Now it is said: Another club has the 29-year-old at the top of their list.

Alexander Nübel is the “top transfer target” of the Turkish top club Besiktas, reports “Sky” reporter Florian Plettenberg.

The goalkeeper, who was brought in on a free transfer from FC Schalke 04 in 2020 and has only played four competitive games for the German record champions since then, is under contract with FC Bayern until 2029. The Istanbul club has already held initial discussions and there is also contact with the players.

In Munich you should always be open to a sale. After several loan spells, a departure should now generate transfer income. The transfer demand should be well over ten million euros. Whether Besiktas will put this amount on the table still seems to be an open question.

Nübel matures into a national player at VfB Stuttgart

Alexander Nübel is said to be not averse to a permanent farewell to FC Bayern. According to “Sky”, the Paderborn native prioritizes other options.

The goalkeeper was once trained in the youth ranks of SC Paderborn, and in 2015 he moved to FC Schalke 04. There he matured into the new number one at a young age. After a year and a half as the starting goalkeeper, he moved to FC Bayern to be the successor to Manuel Neuer. But Nübel was never really happy in Munich; before his successful time at VfB Stuttgart, he had already played on loan for AS Monaco for two years.

In Stuttgart, Nübel, cup winner in 2025 and cup finalist in 2026, also matured into a national player. He played three international matches in the DFB uniform and national coach Julian Nagelsmann plans him to be number three at the World Cup.
