Dennis Haar finishes season as interim head coach SC Cambuur

SC Cambuur came to Dennis Haar in the search for a temporary replacement for Henk de Jong. The former head coach of Jong AZ has committed himself to the Eredivisie club from Leeuwarden for the rest of this season and will take place on the bench as interim head coach.

Cambuur was looking for a temporary new trainer because Henk de Jong will be absent for the time being. A cyst was discovered in his head at the end of last year. The coach returned for a while after a rehabilitation period, but had to deal with persistent complaints.

Trainer career

The 45-year-old Haar has a long track record in professional football and started his coaching career in 2006 in the youth academy of AZ Alkmaar. Here he worked his way up to head coach of Jong AZ and assistant coach with the first team. He also held the latter position at FC Utrecht and KRC Genk and in between he was also head coach of Jong PSV for two seasons.

Cambuur is currently in ninth place in the Eredivisie. The club from Leeuwarden has seven games to go, and has the prospect of qualifying for the play-offs for European football.
