At the World Handball World Cup, the Denmark game against the Czech Republic is a climate protest. A national coach personally intervened – even in front of the security personnel.
The main round game between Denmark and the Czech Republic at the Handball World Championship in Herning has been disturbed by a climate activist. At the beginning of the second half, the activist went into the middle circle in a gray T-shirt of the Danish group “Nodbrems” and began to distribute orange confetti.
Under loud boos of the audience, the man was able to take his protest unhindered for a few seconds before Denmark coach Nikolaj Bredahl Jacobsen personally pushed him towards the side line. Then the security personnel also intervened and finally escorted the man off the pitch. The game had to be interrupted for several minutes while the confetti was removed. Even some players from the Danish opponent helped Czech Republic.
