The project is part of Konnector, the urban renewal program with which Kortrijk has realized various investments in Bissegem in recent years.
The demolition works will continue until the end of June. By the summer holidays, a temporary path for cyclists and pedestrians will be in place. The finishing of the facades and the construction of the first green zones will follow after the summer. The final design is being further developed and is planned for 2027 and 2028. A budget of 1.36 million euros has been provided for the demolition and reconstruction.
