Demir wants to get rid of ‘wild growth’ of children with a medical label: “We push children too quickly to special education”

In five years, the number of pupils in special education increased by a fifth, from 47,000 in 2019 to 55,000 now. Because of that influx, some children with severe needs do not even find a school. Guardive situations that Minister of Education Zuhal Demir (N-VA) wants to counter with a thorough reform.
