These are the leagues where most investments are madeTo overview
In the 2020/21 season, revenues in the Bundesliga, the English Premier League, the Spanish LaLiga, Serie A in Italy and Ligue 1 in France increased slightly by three percent compared to the previous season from a total of 15.1 to 15 .6 billion euros. In 2018/2019, the total turnover of Europe’s “Big Five” was still at the record level of 17 million euros.
Bundesliga revenue fell due to a 94 percent drop in matchday revenue. The reason for this was the viewer exclusion due to the pandemic. The clubs generated around 3 billion euros in the 2020/2021 season, which was 203 million euros (minus 6 percent) less than in the previous season. With 5.5 billion euros, the Premier League is still the financially strongest league. The Bundesliga (€3bn) follows just ahead of La Liga (€2.9bn), Serie A (€2.5bn) and Ligue 1 (€1.6bn).
