In December 2012, the story of the group rape of a young girl, who later died, caused a stir and controversy in India following the injuries sustained by six men on board a bus. An episode that a few years ago resulted in the death penalty for four of the accused and which awakened attention in the country for violence – often unpunished – against women.

That story became a seriesavailable on Netflix as part of the increasingly rich and relevant offer of content from India and the East. Delhi Crime it is a crude series, with good aesthetic qualities of photography that do not spare the most uncomfortable images, nor do they seem to discount the contradictions and immorality of the Indian capital.

Filmed and acted in English and Hindi, the series features policewoman Vartika Chaturvedi at the center (Shefali Shah), who in a male-dominated environment manages to fight for the truth, with a feminine attitude and sensitivity, assisted by the very young agent Neeti (Rasika Dusal).

From the discovery of the wounded and agonizing bodies of the young Deepika and her boyfriend Akash, it then unravels a story that from the crime also takes on the significance of a gender and generational clash (between younger and older policemen).
For those who love to learn about new aesthetic styles and discover the seriality of other markets.
