Delhaize recalls Spanish cheese due to the presence of listeria bacteria | Inland

It concerns cheese with the name ‘Queso de Cabra’ and EAN code 2205473000000. The cheese was sold at Delhaize on 23 and 24 December. The best before date is January 3rd. Consumers are asked not to consume the product and to return it to the point of sale.

Infection by listeria monocytogenes can be dangerous for young children, pregnant women (possibility of miscarriage), immunocompromised persons and the elderly. Possible symptoms of infection are nausea and vomiting, abdominal cramps, diarrhea or constipation, headache and persistent fever (flu). Symptoms usually appear 2 to 60 days after ingestion of the bacteria.
