The Eisbären Berlin are still looking for form in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL). On Friday evening (09/30/22) the German champions lost against the Adler Mannheim 2:4 (0:1, 1:1, 1:2) and thus conceded the fourth defeat in the fifth game of the season. The new leader is ERC Ingolstadt, who won the derby against the Straubing Tigers 5:2 (2:2, 2:0, 1:0).
In front of 10,986 spectators in the arena at Ostbahnhof, Mannheim were the more dangerous team at the beginning. Borna Rendulić scored in the first power play for the guests.
In the second half of the game, both teams initially made a large number of bad passes, and very little happened in front of the goals. After the somewhat surprising equalizer of Kevin Clark the hosts improved, but shortly before the second break Markus Eisenschmid put Mannheim in the lead again.
In the final third, Rendulić’s second goal gave the visitors a double advantage. Zachary Boychuk was able to shorten again shortly before the end, before Nicolas Krämmer made the final decision in favor of Mannheim seconds before the end of the game.

Meanwhile, the Kölner Haie won 2-0 (0-0, 2-0, 0-0) against bottom team Bietigheim Steelers their first away win. the Steelers still only have one point on their account.
Dusseldorf on top after beating Iserlohn
Already on Thursday evening the Düsseldorfer EG had the 6th game day with a 4:1 win against Iserlohn Roosters opened. With their fourth win of the season, Düsseldorf settled into the top group, Iserlohn is stuck in the bottom of the table after their fifth defeat.
