Defending champion Norway was the first team to reach the semi-finals of the women’s handball championship.
The Scandinavians secured their place in the semi-finals in the main round group I in Ljubljana early with a 26:23 (16:15) win against Slovenia.
Norway can no longer be ousted from one of the top two places in its group thanks to its victory. Behind them are three-time Olympic champions Denmark, Sweden and Slovenia fighting for second place in the semi-finals.
In the main round group II with the German national team, there is still no semi-finalist.
