Defending champion Lemgo is in the DHB Cup semifinals

Defending champion TBV Lemgo Lippe is the last team to make it through to the semi-finals of the DHB Cup.

Coach Florian Kehrmann’s team beat MT Melsungen by 28:24 (15:10) on Sunday and will meet record winner THW Kiel in the Final Four in Hamburg (April 23/24).

The strong left winger Bjarki Mar Elisson, who is leaving TBV for Hungary after the season, led Lemgo to success with ten goals. National player Julius Kühn (8) scored the most for Melsungen. The game, which was originally supposed to be played on February 6, had been postponed due to several corona cases.

After 29 years in the Hanseatic city, the final tournament of the four best teams will take place for the last time in the arena in Hamburger Volkspark. Bundesliga leaders SC Magdeburg and HC Erlangen face off in the second semi-final.
