Jaissle wins with Al-Nahli

Cristiano Ronaldo still has to wait for a big title in Saudi Arabia. The Portuguese lost the Saudi Super Cup against Al-Nahli with the German coach Matthias Jaissle with 3: 5 in penalty shootout. After the regular playing time, it had been 2-2 (1: 1). The game was held in the Chinese city of Hong Kong.
The 40-year-old Ronaldo had brought Al-Nassr in the lead by penalty (41st minute). Marcelo Brozović (82nd) increased to the meantime 2: 1. Franck Kessié (45.+6) and Roger Ibañez (89.) equalized for al-Nahli. The Portuguese scored again in the penalty shootout, but his teammate Abdullah Al-Khaibari awarded the crucial penalty.
The five -time world football player won the Champions League five times at the club level and became seven times champion in three different countries. With the national team he celebrated the European Championship title in 2016 and triumphed twice in the Nations League. With Al-Nassr, however, he has not been able to get trophy up to date since his change in January 2023.
