Deerberg brand will be continued

The Deerberg brand now seems to have been saved. The business operations of Deerberg GmbH, based in Hanstedt, will nevertheless be discontinued.

The brand has “found a dream family” and is staying, it says in a letter to customers on the Deerberg website. The imprint now also includes Kiel-based Scandic Fashion GmbH, which is represented by managing director Dennis Niemann and has secured the trademark rights.

This is the provider of Scandinavian women’s fashion that operates nine “Scandic Way of Life” stores in Northern Germany – Westerland on Sylt, Flensburg, Husum, Eckernförde, Kiel, Lübeck, Warnemünde, Timmendorfer Strand and Büsum. There is also an outlet in Kiel and its own online shop ‘Scandic Shop’, where brands such as Sorgenfri Sylt, Heiter bis Wolkig, Lindgroen and Lykka du Nord are offered. This will also create and offer Deerberg’s collections in the future.

“In the future, Deerberg will continue to stand out with comfortable and sustainable fashion made from natural fibers. Quality, bright colors and pure joy of life continue to be our top priority. As a team, we can hardly wait to introduce you to our new little family, whose values fit perfectly with the Deerberg brand. The sister collections also have great, colorful fashion for you,” says the customer letter.

Out for Deerberg at the Hanstedt location

Accordingly, at least the brand of the Deerberg company, founded in 1986, will be continued. After the company had to file for bankruptcy at the end of June, it looked for investors until mid-August. This search was then stopped and the end was announced.

From September onwards, a large proportion of the company’s administrative staff should be laid off. A total of 260 employees worked for Deerberg. We are currently in the final stages of processing and therefore there is no future for the Hanstedt location.

Meanwhile, over 2,600 items from the company’s insolvency estate will be auctioned, Aurena announced on Monday. The Austrian auction portal offers, among other things, the entire equipment of the company headquarters in Hanstedt and the logistics center in Lüneburg. This includes furniture, shopfitting, office equipment, decoration, photography equipment, but also tools and the vehicle fleet.
