The cabinet leaves the decision on a new National Program against Discrimination and Racism to the next cabinet. However, there are a number of lines of thought that the new cabinet can work on. The Minister of the Interior and Kingdom Relations has sent this to the House of Representatives.

These lines of thought largely relate to the term of office of a new cabinet. Because the decision-making process coincided too closely with the previous cabinet change, this cabinet decided to leave further steps to the next cabinet.

The approach developed to date could focus on 4 sub-areas, which together ensure a coordinated fight against discrimination and racism in the Netherlands. This involves specific approaches for society as a whole, the public sector, the private sector and on Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba.

The fact that the decision on the next program comes later does not mean that the approach to discrimination and racism has now come to a standstill. The ministries involved remain fully committed to the approach and actions that have already been initiated. For example, the State Commission against Racism and Discrimination is working on the Discrimination Test, which examines with various public organizations how and where discrimination, exclusion or unequal treatment can arise and can be prevented.
