In a completely crazy evening game, Rot-Weiss Essen won 4: 3 (0: 1) at SV Wehen Wiesbaden and thus celebrated the first win of the season in the 3rd division.

Four days after the big cup duel against BVB and the bitter 0-1 defeat, RWE had every reason to cheer. The game at SVWW took a furious course.

Essen had shot the break behind with three goals from José-Enrique Rios Alonso, Kaito Müzua and Ahmet Arslan within spectacular 16 minutes, but then had to accept the 3: 3 equalization. But that wasn’t it yet. “Joker” Torben Müsel met deep in added time (90th+4th).

Immediately to the RWE fans

Immediately after the final whistle, RWE trainer Uwe Koschinat grabbed his players and ran with them to the impact-filled guest block to celebrate with their own fans. “It was a very special victory after the top performance on Monday. If you have such a curve, you are obliged to get everything out,” said Koschinat at Magenta. The team had accompanied 2,000 people in Essen to Hesse.

Eating started weakly

It didn’t even start for the Koschinat team. The Esseners, this time with Luca Bazzoli and Marvin Obuz for Kaito Müzua and Michael Schultz, started stubbornly and far too slowly. The first half belonged to the hosts, who deservedly took the lead by Jordy Gillenkens after a corner.

Koschinat reacted several times. At first he held a sermon on cabin that had it all. “Today I shouted at her,” confessed the coach, who also converted tactically and had it played with four chains from now on. Müzua came in, Klaus Gjusala had to get out.

Koschinat in the cabin loud

The red and white were not to be recognized. Now they really put pace and came to success. Defender José-Enrique Rios Alonso initially hammered the ball with the bottom of the latte. It looked briefly like a “Wembley goal”, but the ball was clearly behind the line (55.).

A little later Müzua finished a sparkling clean counterattack after a strong cross from Ramien Safi with a shot in the far corner (63.). Because then Wiesbaden Lukas Schleimer also jumped the ball in the penalty area, referee debutant Lennart Kernchen immediately decided on penalty.

Three goals in 16 minutes

Arslan did not take the opportunity and increased to 3: 1 (71.). Three goals in a good quarter of an hour – what an intermediate sprint of the Esseners. “I’ve never seen my team so well,” said Uwe Koschinat.

But that was far from that on this entertaining evening. Because even the Wiesbadeners did not give up and came back to 3: 3 through goals from Fatih Kaya (penalty/74.) And Nikolas Agrafiotis (87th).

Should RWE make a guided tour again like last against Havelse? No, because the also substituted mussel stayed cool in added time and put a pass dry in the short corner. For his golden hand, Uwe Koschinat was also allowed to knock on the shoulder on this crazy evening.
