At 8.15 pm the police received a report from a person in the water, after which several police and fire brigade units pulled out. Once there it turned out to be a deceased person, a police spokesperson said.
Crime scene
The police are currently investigating the cause of death and the identity of the victim. Large white screens have been placed by the water. According to the police, the place is currently a crime scene.
The forensic investigation conducts research into the incident. The Draafsingel and De Pakhuisstraat are closed to traffic by the investigation.
