One person died in a large house fire on Loderstraat in Eindhoven on Sunday afternoon. It concerns the owner of the house.
The fire started just before three o’clock. The Safety Region already announced at that time that someone might still be present in the house. Later this turned out to be indeed the case.
The victim – a man – was taken down with a ladder from a window on the first floor. Then a white sheet was quickly placed over him.
Several homes in the area are currently being evacuated. It is unclear whether the flames actually spread. The fire brigade is present with several vehicles, including an aerial platform. Several firefighters are currently inside the home.
NL-Alert
An NL Alert has now also been sent by the Safety Region. “Fire with a lot of smoke in Loderstraat Eindhoven,” the warning message says. “Close windows and doors. Turn off ventilation.”
It is unclear whether the fire has now been brought under control. There would still be a lot of smoke coming from the first floor and from under the roof.
