Angela de Jong understands that angry farmers blocked the Media Park yesterday. The NPO also emits a lot of nitrogen and sometimes even unnecessarily, such as with Best Singers, according to the AD diva.

The farmers in our country are angry about the government’s nitrogen policy and they protest about it. One of the locations where action was taken yesterday was the Media Park in Hilversum. Logical, thinks opinion diva Angela de Jong. “I am being flown off a bit there and therefore nitrogen is emitted at the NPO,” she writes in the newspaper AD

Nitrogen emissions NPO

According to Angela, the NPO could show a little more solidarity with the farmers. She points out the many travel programs such as Floortje Naar The End Of The World, Between the Americas and 3 Op Reis. “How would some programmers react if they were told that 70 percent of travel programs had to be scrapped?”

She continues: “Not to mention shows that must also be recorded abroad for completely unclear reasons, such as Best Singers.”

Best Singers on Vlieland?

Best Singers was again recorded in Spain this year. The TV makers opt for that sunny destination, because it would enhance the atmosphere and the artists cannot go home in the meantime. They are forced to spend time together, without their own team and their managers being present.

However, Angela does not think it is necessary at all that everyone is flown to Spain for this program. It is also possible in the Netherlands, she thinks. For example, you can choose a location on Texel or Vlieland. According to her, then a lot less nitrogen would be emitted.

Readers agree with Angela

Angela’s readers agree with her. “What’s wrong with recording programs in our beautiful country? I haven’t watched all those programs with celebrities for a long time. The Evening Stage is also possible from the Netherlands. Why all those movements with nitrogen?” someone says.

And another: “For years I’ve wondered why so many programs have to be recorded abroad. The employees in those programs have a free holiday and are only on the job for a few hours. Stop it, it’s tax money!”

‘Travel agency NPO’

Harry is also done with all those traveling celebrities. “Well. Travel agency NPO. Enjoy flying around the world at the expense of the taxpayer. And usually it’s not about anything at all, they could just as well have filmed in front of a blue set and then stick some pyramids behind it. ‘Dear Singers in Egypt’, just to name a few.”

He continues: “Nowadays they can have real-life dinosaurs running through the image, so it should be possible to cut and paste a few pyramids in the background, I think.”

There is often controversy about the excessive nitrogen emissions of Dutch celebrities. Nikkie Plessen, for example, seems to emit as much nitrogen on her own as a medium-sized city. She doesn’t want to answer for that.
