A man has been killed in a stabbing in Best. A second person was injured and taken to hospital. That’s what the police report. After the police received a report in the night from Thursday to Friday, they found the man seriously injured on Koningin Julianaweg-Zuid in Best. Medical help was of no avail.
The stabbing was preceded by an argument or altercation in a nearby cafeteria, according to a police spokesman. Cafeteria De Smulhoek is located on Koningin Julianaweg-Zuid, with Ons Café next to it. The man lay on the sidewalk in front of the cafeteria, which had since closed. It is not clear what exactly happened.
Police cordoned off the area Thursday night. Forensic investigators there look for DNA traces, fingerprints or objects that can tell more about the circumstances. The identity of the fatal victim is not yet known. It is also not clear how the other person, also a man, is doing and whether there are more involved.
The East Brabant police are asking witnesses and other people who know more about what happened to come forward.
