De Zaan head-down in battle for national championship against Polar Bears

The national championship passes De Zaan’s nose. The second game in the best-of-three was lost 11-2 to Polar Bears in Ede. As a result, the battle for the title has been decided against the Zaankanters.

Yesterday, the first game in a three-game series ended in favor of Polar Bears: 5-7. The assignment was clear to the visitors; in case of a win, a decision duel in Zaandam would be forced. They took the lead in the first quarter via Danique Sap.

Before the end of the first period, the home team already equalized: 1-1. In the second quarter, the margin was expanded to 3-1. Hereafter, De Zaan came back to 3-2, but the loss got bigger in the third and fourth period: 11-2.
