De Wever about new NATO standard: “Belgium also agrees, but it will be a very difficult task”

With the new NATO standard to raise the military nuclear spending up to 3.5 percent of GDP by 2035, Belgium enters into a “new marathon,” says Prime Minister Bart De Wever after the NATO summit. Belgium did get a blow at home and was able to convince other Member States to expand the proposed period to reach the new standard, from 7 years to 10 years.
