De Peiling: are farmers’ protests going too far?

There are again today farmers’ protests in our province. At the beginning of this month, farmers blocked the A7 and set fire to hay bales and car tires. There was also unrest during farmer protests outside our province. Are the protests going too far? Or are these actions justified? We are curious about your opinion!

Farmers are mainly dissatisfied with the strict regulations regarding nitrogen and the way in which they are limited in their business operations. They demand more support from the government and believe that their interests are not listened to enough.

The protests not only have a logistical impact on traffic, but also spark a broader discussion about the future of the agricultural sector in the Netherlands. While the government strives for sustainability and environmental protection, farmers continue to fight for recognition and space to continue their businesses in a profitable manner.

What do you think: are the farmers going too far with the protests? Or are these actions justified? Give your opinion via Facebook and/or this afternoon on NH Radio in the program Nooit de Dag.
